Jesus, cast a look on me. Give me sweet simplicity. Make me poor and keep me low. Seeking only Thee to know.

Do you know anyone who seems to have it all together? You know...those people who are always dressed appropriately for any given occasion, don't wear white shoes after Labor day, have their home's decor change with the seasons.

i am not that person.

If you know me, you know what to expect when you see me. I will be in my rope sandals, toddler on my hip, running 5 minutes behind, scripture cuff on my wrist as a constant reminder of what really matters.

I've always felt this way-different from the crowd. A square peg expected to fit into a round hole.
And now I understand! God has opened my eyes to the truth that this world is not my eternal home. This skin I walk around in every day is only temporary. It's okay that I just can't seem to figure out how "to do life"-as I told my hubby the other day.

i forget to return phone calls.
i say things out of anger.
i struggle with self-righteousness.
i judge.
i am ungrateful at times.
i can be lazy.
i am a sinner in desperate need of a savior-Jesus.

Without wisdom from God, I know nothing.
If I speak words that do not come from Him or from His Word, I've said nothing.
If I spend my life fulfilling selfish desires, I have done nothing.

Romans 12:2 (The Message)
Place Your Life Before God
1-2 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
