Jesus, cast a look on me. Give me sweet simplicity. Make me poor and keep me low. Seeking only Thee to know.

baby fever.

"Mothers worry. We know this down in our bones; The price of holding a child to your neck and feeling his breathing gradually fall into step with your own is to have your heart intertwined with his forever."-

Soooo, I'll admit it, I have a mAJOR case of BABY FEVER! Thanks alot, Piper :)
I've always loved babies-began babysitting in my preteen years, worked at a daycare center in high school, majored in Elementary Education and taught school for 7 years, and have been blessed with 2 "rewards of the womb".
not until now, not until I entered into the Holy Spirit's grace and have been offered a glimpse into His way of life for us, have I ever really appreciated mOTHERING.
Sure-the sight of a cute kid would always bring a smile to my face, I'm a stay-at-home mom, and I even homeschool.
But never before have I seen motherhood as the privilege, the honor, the great calling as I do now.
Like my pastor has been preaching on..."I was made for this"! (literally.)
even with the dirty diapers

even with the lack of sleep
even with the 24 hr. requirements
even with the demands and, yes, physical pain of breastfeeding
even with a 3 month hospital stay and brain surgery on my 5 month old baby girl

Psa 127:3
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

with all that being said...
I don't ask for your prayers that I will get pregnant.
I ask that you pray that I continue to seek God's will for my life, and regardless of what that may intell, pray that I will receive it and say "Thank you, Lord."

Luk 1:38
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

Job 1:21
He said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD."

Rom 14:23
But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because {his eating is} not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

  1. oh amy!

    children are definitely a blessing..

    Proverbs 30:15b-16
"There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, 'Enough!':

    the grave
    the barren womb
land, which is never satisfied with water
and fire, which never says, 'Enough!'

  2. Wow! I will definitely keep you in my prayers dear.

  3. I am in a perpetual state of baby fever... sigh. Folks tell me that eventually I will get to the place where I don't desire any more little ones, but I'm thinkin' if it hasn't happened yet, it never will;)

Praying for the Lord's will in your life♥
